Sujoy Ghosh’s daughter’s short film selected for Cannes

The Cannes Film Festival is gearing up for the big short film revolution that’s going on. Several films from India have been selected for this prestigious festival and now, Sujoy Ghosh’s daughter, Diya Ghosh’s short film Neighborhood Ties has been selected for the Cannes Film Festival. The 10-minute short film will be screened at the festival soon.  And dad Sujoy was quite happy. He tweeted this information and said that his daughter has done what the father couldn’t.

Meanwhile, celebrities have poured in their congratulations to the father, including film maker Sanjay Gupta, Vishal Dadlani and others.  Sujoy, on his part, thanks his friends and the film fraternity for their tweets and congratulations.

Sujoy Ghosh’s daughter joins the long list of film makers who are using the streaming platforms to get their content to a larger audience. Before her, the likes of Hansal Mehta worked with streaming platforms for series like Bose: Dead/Alive and others. In fact, many actors are coming to the streaming platforms to make their presence felt. Recently, Excel Entertainment tied up with Amazon Prime for India’s first streaming original on the Prime platform, Inside Edge. Saif Ali Khan will soon be seen in the Netflix series Sacred Games, and he is joined by Nawazuddin Siddique in the series, that is based on a book of the same name.
