  • Netflix web series The Innocent Man promises a harrowing experience.
  • John Grisham will feature in Netflix web series The Innocent Man

One of the first web series that made Netflix a household name in India was Making of a Murderer. After that came all the mainstream action blasters. Now, Netflix is well known for their crime documentaries and other such content and it brings to audiences The Innocent Man.

The web series talks about a dual murder that took place in America and is based on legendary writer John Grisham’s non-fiction book that was a best seller in 2006. The project talks about the controversy behind the killings that took place in Ada, Oklahoma in 1982 and 1984. The four people arrested for the murder, Tommy Ward, Karl Fontenot, Ron Williamson and Dennis Fritz, have been at the centre of a controversy. Two of them were exonerated and the other two continue to serve life sentences.

The trailer promises to be in the same gritty, intimate way that Making of a Murderer and other such documentaries were in. The documentary trailer also features John Grisham, so that’s always a plus for thriller fans. The series interviews lawyers, journalists and other individuals related to the series. Clay Tweel directs, while Grisham served as executive producer.
