SonyLIV is Sony’s online arm and until now was concentrating on streaming content that was available on the traditional channels. However, a new short web series on the SonyLIV platform has everybody talking. That web series is Hawa Badle Hassu, starring Chandan Roy Sanyal as the titular character. The series also stars Smita Tambe and Vikam Kochchar in supporting roles. Here’s our complete review of Hawa Badle Hassu.

Hassu (Chandan) is a rickshaw driver who drives what could be the greenest rickshaw. Everyday, he takes up different fares, and during the journey tells them about to lead a green life in an interesting way. He doesn’t have many friends, apart from a fellow rickshawwallah and a female petrol pump attendant. When Hassu disappears suddenly, the petrol pump attendant and the rickshaw driver decide to begin looking for him. however, little do they know that Hassu is not what he seems and there are bigger players in the game.

What’s Wow : The concept of coupling climate change with a sci-fi and thriller is good. Chandan Roy Sanyal does a good job. The script too does a good job of bringing the message of climate change in an interesting manner.  The series is also a good way of introducing the One Earth Model and the concept that climate change is real.

What’s Blah : While the initial production values are high, the short series struggles because of the rampant CGI in the later episodes.

Parting Shot : Hawa Badle Hassu is a must watch for anyone who wants to know more about climate control.
