Large Short Films, a platform for brilliant films created by established and aspiring directors in India, has released the trailer of its upcoming Short Film Maya. Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, the trailer of the film shows Anjan, a simple guy, wooing the girl he likes, not as himself but someone she does not recognise, over a series of phone calls. The trailer gives a sneak peek of the blossoming love between Mr. Stranger and the girl. Shot in Kolkata, it stars Padmapriya and Abir Chatterjee.

Abir Chatterjee, a rage in Bengali Cinema, is much loved as Byomkesh Bakshi and Feluda. Our favourite Bengali Feluda film of his is Badshahi Angti and we love him as the popular sleuth Byomkesh in Har Har Byomkesh. Known to possess a charm that takes over viewers, the short film is definitely something for us to look forward to. Multiple award winner Padmapriya has acted in over 30 films in multiple languages.

Director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, who directed the award winning thriller Pink, is also a National Film Award winner for Antaheen – a 2008 film which starred Radhika Apte, Rahul Bose, Mita Vashisth, Aparna Sen, Kalyan Ray and Sharmila Tagore.

Some of the popular Large Short Format films are Rogan Josh, Shame and Carbon.

The trailer of Maya has an element of thrill in it. It does not look like a plain love story. Is it about the complexities of human nature? Is there a split personality involved? Well, all that will be revealed soon. Till then, our guess is as good as yours.
