ZEE5, the streaming arm of ZEE TV is going strength to strength. The streaming channel has launched content in five languages, Malay, Thai, Bahasa, Russian and German. The channel becomes the first OTT platform to provide Indian content, custom made for foreign audiences. With this, ZEE5 offers content in seventeen languages.
ZEE5 has been working hard to create a niche for itself in the world of streaming. Since the past year, ZEE5 has commissioned web series that tell the Indian streaming audiences about various parts of Indian and Asian history that were hitherto unsaid – like The Sholay Girl, which spoke about Bollywood’s first female stuntperson. ZEE5 also went ahead with Tigers, a short film about a whistleblower in Pakistan, who took the fight to a global dairy product manufacturer.
Yesterday, the OTT platform launched the first episode of Hutatma, their web series that tells the audience about the Samyukt Maharashtra Movement. The web series stars Anjali Patil, Vikram Gokhale, Sachin Khedekar, Mohan Aghase and others.
