Zee Entertainment Enterprises and Bharti Airtel have signed a partnership to create and share exclusive video content over the next three years. This exclusive content will be available on Airtel’s video on demand app and Zee’s OTT platform ZEE5.
Airtel will get access to Zee’s premium content which will be included in its Rs 499 bundle. This will help Zee in two ways, besides receiving a fixed amount for its content consumed on Airtel; it will also get consumer viewership data from Airtel, which will help in creating content.
Prior to this, Zee had a partnership with Jio. Zee removed all of its content from Jio Digital Services a month ago owing to disagreements over pricing. And though it has partnered with Airtel, it is also looking at partnerships with other telecom operators with includes Jio.
ZEE5 offers 375 live TV channels, and over 1000 shows, movies and other entertainment videos. It plans to have content in 6 languages in the future.
