YouTube is the next big boy that is putting in money to capture the streaming market. The Google owned company has announced that it will make as many as 40 series of their own.

On board already are Kevin Hart, for a fitness program and Ellen DeGeneres for a behind-the-scenes celebrity show. Of course, there’s a big list of homegrown superstars for YouTube, who will be more than happy to partner with YouTube for new content.

The USP of this is that YouTube is offering all the content at the sweetest price point ever – free. Going by precedence, YouTube’s content will be available for free with ads. Of course, there’s the YouTube Red program, which is ad-free but subscription based.

With YouTube coming into the streaming game, the lowest pricepoint for the streaming community is becoming cheaper. Amazon Prime is still offering its content for a jaw-dropping 500 rupees  per year in India. Netflix is the priciest yet, with 600 rupees per month for HD content.  All this hinting at a great time for the consumers of streaming content.
