YouTube is infamous for changing their policies. A couple of months ago, they brought in a lot of changes in their payment policies, which upset several YouTubers. It’s alleged that one YouTuber, Nasim Aghdam – who had a lot to say in her videos and on her website – barged into the Sao Paulo YouTube headquarters and shot herself, before wounding other with a gun. She believed YouTube was censoring her videos and that her channel wouldn’t see a growth if YouTube didn’t want it to happen.
This should come as a shock to anyone who’s been following the whole Internet thing. Disappointed employees were a thing of the nineties – and we have had some incidents of such employees trying to take matters in their own hands. Currently, this is the first instance of an irate YouTuber indulging in violence.
Google Chief Executive Sundar Pichai and YouTube chief Susan Wojcikiki have addressed the attack in separate statements.
