What’s there for weekend binge?

The various OTT platforms are adding an interest set of films that one should definitely watch over the weekend. Without further ado, here’s a list of ten films that are now available for your weekend binge.

Batman Begins (Netflix)

After witnessing his parents’ death Bruce Wayne trains with a shadowy organization and returns to Gotham City to fight crime under a new guise in this superhero film. This 2005 film is written by Nolan and David S Goyer.

Chernobyl Diaries (Netflix)

A group of young tourists decide to visit Ukraine and from there are intrigued to visit Chernobyl that houses the infamous nuclear plant which has now become home to unknown mutant survivors. This horror film comes from Oren Peli, well known for his Paranormal Activity franchise.

Clerks (Netflix)

This black and white movie talks about the lives of convenience clerks, who have to serve people day in and day out. But one day, they decide they have had enough. They annoy their customers, crib about all that they have to endure, discuss movies and play hockey on the roof of the store.

Constantine (Netflix)

It tells the story of irreverent supernatural detective John Constantine, who has been to heaven and back – literally. He exorcises demons back to hell to earn favors on earth. The film stars Keanu Reeves, Rachel Weisz and Shia LaBeouf and is directed by Francis Lawrence.

High Noon (Amazon Prime Video)

A town marshal played by Gary Cooper has a lot on his plate to do – he has to face a gang of killers alone and also fulfill his duty towards his new bride. The inspiration for the film came from a story by John W Cunningham called The Tin Star.

Out Of Time (Amazon Prime Video)

Starring Eva Mendes, Denzel Washington, the film revolves around policeman Whitlock who entrusts his mistress with cash seized from a drug raid. All breaks loose when she dies and the FBI thinks he is to be blamed for it. The thriller is directed by Carl Franklin.

Mother (Amazon Prime Video)

The psychological horror stars Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem, it tells the story of a young woman who is living a good life with her husband in their country home. But things take a bad turn when a mysterious couple enters their lives and then their family saga seeps in.

Kaala (Amazon Prime Video)

This Rajinikanth starrer is set in Mumbai’s Dharavi. The Tamil population in Dharavi finds itself in the middle of a          demolition drive to make way for more commercialized property that would fetch more money for the politicians. All this under the pretext of development, realising this Kaala played by the superstar, makes sure that the people unite against the political forces.

Parmanu (ZEE5)

The Bollywood film is based on the nuclear tests conducted by India in Pokhran. The film is set in 1998 and it starts from 1995 where China completes 43 nuclear tests, but India has only one nuclear test to be proud of. IAS officer Ashwat insists on making India a nuclear superpower, even at the cost of putting his career in jeopardy.

Veere Di Wedding (ZEE5)

The film is a girl gang story about four friends played by Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania. When Kareena Kapoor is all set to get married, all her friends aka veere come forward to reconnect and enjoy this special occasion in her life. The film is all about friendship, sexuality and woman bonding.
