The assassination of Mahatma Gandhi has always been spot of discussion in India’s history. Today, with the political situation so frothy, books, films and web series about the life and death of historical characters are almost ordering themselves onto the streaming platforms. Manohar Malgaonkar’s book The Men Who Killed Gandhi will be adapted for the streaming screen by Rajesh Mapuskar.
The book has been out of controversy since then because it was launched in 1978. It speaks about a Hindu right-wing conspiracy to kill the Mahatma. He was assassinated by Nathuram Godse and other members of the Hindu Mahasabha.
Vikram Malhotra’s Abundantia Entertainment will co-produce the web series with Mapuskar. No word on which streaming platform will grab the series.
