Vodafone India partnered with premium video-on-demand service Hooq to offer unlimited streaming of content.

With this development, shows like The Big Bang Theory, Arrow, The Vampire Diaries, Gotham, Supergirl, Friends, The Flash and others will be available on Vodafone Play. Enhancing the video streaming experience on Vodafone Play is a rich list of the best of local and Hollywood hits at no extra charges.

The mobile carrier has partnerships with major players in the entertainment sector. It has a partnership with Discovery for 12 HD and SD Discovery channels.

The mobile carrier has a tie-up with Amazon Prime Video. After subscribing to Amazon Prime via MyVodafone app or the  carrier’s website for an annual introductory subscription price of Rs 499, Vodafone customers get Rs 250 cashback as their Amazon Pay Balance. It is available for android devices only.

With this, Netflix has enabled carrier billing, allowing payment integration straight via the monthly bills for subscribers on the network.

Competing with rival Airtel – which has its Airtel Movies a free streaming app for latest movies besides ‘Internet TV’; and Jio – which has Jio Cinema app, apart from offering AltBalaji for next 6-9months; Vodafone is taking the streaming competition seriously and how.
