The Untouchables is slowly becoming the most anticipated web series. Director Vikram Bhatt’s daughter, Krishna Bhatt has been talking about her experience directing the series – a courtroom drama. Now, there’s news that Vikram Bhatt will debut in a full-fledged role with the web series. The series will start streaming on the Viu streaming channel come January 27, Vikram’s birthday.  The series will also launch on Vikram Bhatt’s OTT platform, VBontheWeb.

Vikram Bhatt will portray the role of a lawyer in this series. During a media interaction, Vikram said that Krishna came up with the idea of him playing the character of a lawyer. He further said that she imagined him in the role. Vikram has earlier done cameos in his films like Ankahee, Bhaag Johnny and Khamoshiyan, but this is the first time that he’ll have a full-fledged, main role in a film or a web series.

Vikram is credited for bringing streaming entertainment to the common man with his web series like Maaya, Spotlight, Gehraiyaan and others with his Lone Ranger banner. These series are available on Viu.

The Untouchables, then, is important for many reasons. To begin with, it will be one of the first Indian courtroom dramas to hit the streaming screens – crime and legal dramas are a big hit outside India, it remains to be seen how it fares here. The directorial debut of Krishna Bhatt, who’s somewhat of a Bollywood royalty will surely have critics with their eyes peeled – and it all comes out on January 27th, save the date.
