The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi is a polarising figure. Hugely popular with his citizens, anecdotes of his humane approach towards Indians make the rounds of the media every now and then. One of the most intriguing ones was when he called up a couple so he could name their child, who was yet to be born.

The film is inspired from the true life incident that took place in October 2016. Vibha and Bharat, a couple from Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh, got a call from the Prime Minister at around 10 PM. It all started when Vibha wrote a letter to the Prime Minister’s Office, requesting the Prime Minister to name her child.

Neha Sharma, the person behind the short film says that she made the film after getting in contact with the couple. According to her, Vibha’s ambition to have her girl child named by the Prime Minister of India started after she heard the PM speak about women empowerment and the role of women in everyday life on the program ‘Mann Ki Baat’.
