‘Uravu’ Wins At IWAH All Kerala Short Film Fest

The drought scenario in Kerala is giving people hardships and film-makers are now getting to make short films about the devastation that the natural calamity has caused.

The film has won the ‘Best Short Film’ at the IWAH Kerala Short Film Fest in Kozhikode that was held in March.  Sandheep P has scripted and directed the film. It is produced under the Pipal Tree of Fireflies Inter Culture Entre in Bangalore, as part of its Climate Justice Campaign.  The lead actress, Akhila, won the award for Best Actress at the All Kerala Blossom Short Film zfest in Malappuram, that was held in April.

The film revolves around a woman who is accused of stealing water from the her workplace – so that she can cook rice back home.  You can watch the film here:
