These four cricket shows are going to bowl you over ahead of the IPL

The frenzy surrounding cricket that the IPL brings with it is not too far away. This time around, up your game with a host of shows to choose from ahead of the cricket carnival and watch the variety of shows that’ll make you fall in love again with ‘The Gentleman’s game’.

Here’s a list of shows that will help you reminisce in the glory of the past 11 years of the IPL seasons. 

  1. iB cricket super over league

This one different, special and specially made for all the cricket aficionados out there.  The iB Cricket Super Over League is the first ever virtual reality cricket league, that’s a completely new spin on the way this cricket-crazy country watches the sport. It will see the stage lit up as 12 star players will gear up to challenge each other in epic matches, close chases and some amazing fun. The series is out on 15th March on Viu and will be the ultimate test to see who triumphs as the first-ever VR Cricket champion. The legendary lineup of cricketers includes the best of both past and current, with the likes of Virender Sehwag, Brendon McCullum, Harbhajan Singh, Andre Russell, Suresh Raina, Herschelle Gibbs, Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill, Christopher Lynn, Mohammad Kaif, Tillakaratne Dilshan and VVS Laxman, playing it out between themselves in this completely fun-filled new format of cricket.

2. Cricket Fever: Mumbai Indians

Cricket Fever: Mumbai Indians is a Netflix documentary that brings the unprecedented insights to the fans of the Indian Premier League. The documentary film is a first of its kind as it brings out the behind the scenes of the IPL and the Mumbai franchise. With behind-the-scenes footage from the dressing room and team meetings, the documentary is the perfect way to relive your love for the team.

3. Roar of the Lion

Yet another web series that chronicles the past of a legendary IPL team, the Chennai Super Kings! With the enigmatic MS Dhoni, in the lead role, the series on Hotstar aims to highlight the journey of the team through the match-fixing scandal and their well-deserved comeback win in 2018.

4. Selection Day

Coming from a small-town village, where they have been trained by their father to make the selection trials for a team in Mumbai,  2 boys release their dreams of becoming cricket legends is a long way from where they currently are.  From rivalry to dirty politics, the show revolves around the lives of two brothers who hope to make it big in the field of cricket. The cast of this show on Netflix includes Yash Dholye, Subrat Dutta, Mahesh Manjrekar and Shiv Pandit among others.
