Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri presents the first look of one of the most anticipated films ”The Tashkent Files’ to Colin Burrows, CEO, Special Treats Productions and Prasoon Joshi, Chairman, CBFC at Cannes Film Festival.  Tashkent Files is already creating waves in the international film circuit. Recently, the 15 minute screener of the film was screened at the Cannes Film Festival in two categories and was met with a standing ovation. The adulation hasn’t ended with that. Now, more and more festival directors are trying to get in contact with the film maker so they can screen the 15 minute screener at their festival.

Tashkent Files is one of the rare films that talks about the sudden, if not mysterious death of the late Prime Minister of India, Lal Bahadur Shastri, in Tashkent.  The thriller film stars Naseeruddin Shah, Mithun Chakraborthy and others.  Tashkent Files 15 minute screener was screened twice at the Cannes Film Festival, at the India Pavilion and the Cannes Market.

This is one of the few films that have decided to at least try to unravel the mysteries surrounding some of the  greatest political incidents that have earlier happened in India.

Tashkent Files is produced by Pranay Chokshi, Haresh Patel and Pallavi Joshi. Sharad Patel and Anuya Ritesh Kudecha are co-producers. Tashkent Files stars Mithun Chakraborthy, Naseeruddin Shah, Shweta Basu and others.
