Sudha Chandran set to revive folk dance with web series based on traditional Indian dances

Sudha Chandran is everyone’s favorite vamp from the TV series, but few knew that she is one of the few actresses who trained in traditional Indian dance forms. And now, the actress turns producer with the web series Raahe Ek, Manzil Anek. Her husband Ravi Dang will be directing the series.

According to Sudha, the series will cover dances from all Indian states and will talk about various folklore and dance forms present in various parts of the country. She reiterated that some dance forms are becoming extinct and it is important to revive those dance forms, or at least create awareness about those. She shared that the show will also interview renowned Dance Gurus on the show, so they can speak about the changing phase of dance from the times of retro to current.

Sudha Chandra shot to fame after her performance in Nache Mayuri and Mayuri, the films that were made on her real-life story in 1984 and 1986.  Since then, she has been active in the Bollywood and Hindi Television industry. She was an integral part of films like Thaanedar, Shola Aur Shabnam and later in televisions series like Kaahin Kissii Roz, Naagin and earlier in Hum Paanch.
