Steven Sodenbergh is one of the most influential directors in the country today. The man with films like Sex, Lies and Videotape and the Ocean’s series now comes to Netflix with High Flying Bird, a sports drama. The film stars Zazie Beetz (Atlanta, Deadpool 2) and Sonja Sohn (The Chi), as well as Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks) and Bill Duke (Predator).  Along with them, Zachary Quinto, Caleb McLaughlin, Michelle Ang, Jeryl Prescott, Melvin Gregg, Justin Hurtt-Dunkley, Farah Balal Teea Loreal and Eddie Tavares also star.

In this film, a sports agent pitches a rookie basketball client a controversial but interesting opportunity, while the whole sports scene is on a lockout.  Tarell Alvin Craney writes, while Steven Sodenbergh directs.

Steven Sodenburgh made his debut as a director with Sex, Lies and Videotape in the late 80s. That film was his breakthrough, though he did face some failures afterwards, with films like Kafka, King of the Hill, The Underneath and Schizopolis. He had a comeback with the 1998 film Out of Sight and The Limey. He also directed Erin Brockovich.
