SonyLIV is definitely trying its best to capture the streaming market in India. It has tied up with several content producers, including ALTBalaji, to give some great content for the streaming screen viewers. Now, in a first, SonyLIV is opening up to independent musicians to create music based on their webseries. The company recently launched ‘Aadat Chhe Tu’ for their Gujarati webseries, ‘Kacho Papad, Pako Papad’, which is also India’s first Gujarati webseries. In a media interaction, Uday Sodhi, the Sony Pictures Network India EVP & Head – digital business, Uday Sodhi said that they will also spend on promoting these songs.
Music has always played a big role in the success and promotion of mainstream films. In fact, the promotion of a feature film begins with the music launch. With SonyLIV gearing up to make music big in the digital space too, looks like independent musicians now have a new platform to go to.
