The relationship between games and mental health has been discussed a lot. Now, there is a Kickstarter project aiming to create videos that show how video games are a boon to people who have mental issues.

Aiming to raise around $50,000, the series will use actual stories of people in game development and other media personalities as stories for the videos. Along with them, mental health professionals will also provide evidence based advice.

This project is the brainchild of Dr. Jennifer Hazel, who has spent more than two years looking at the relationship between mental health and video games. The videos will be released in a couple of series. The first series talks about the escapism that video games offer – much more evolved than films. The second season talks about the great resource that games are for people who have mental health issues.  If all goes well, the videos will be released in December, 2017.
