The relationship between a daughter-in-law and a mother-in-law is part and parcel of Indian pop culture. Countless films have been made on this concept, right from the time films hit the screens. Streaming platforms are tackling this relationship in a more mature manner, with ScoopWhoop’s Sneh telling a stunning story. Now, Saas is another film that revolves around the relationship and here’s our complete review.

Saas tells the story of a woman who’s frustrated with her mother-in-law. She tells this to her doctor brother, who concocts a plan to kill the mother-in-law. Only thing, the daughter must give poison to the mother-in-law for some time. What happens next forms the rest of the story.

What’s Wow: The concept is interesting, no doubt. This is one of those few short films that marries off the concept of a thriller and a drama in an interesting manner. The short film makers use an interesting story to bring home an emotional point.

What’s Blah:  Everything else about the short film is good, but the dialogue delivery of all the characters seems a bit jarring. Also, the dialogues themselves seem archaic and a bit monotonous. Apart from that, there’s nothing lacking here.

Parting Shot: Saas is an intriguing piece of content.
