  • Swati Semwal brings us a quirky tale of sexual exploration

Short films have evolved into being a simple concept to being intense, quirky stories. Swati Semwal brings to us Dil Do Laa Rey, and the tone of the film is set right from its title – which is pun intended. Here’s our complete review of the short film.

The short film is about two sisters from a conservative family who are just exploring their sexuality. Even as the elder sister is about to be married, the two decide to do something that’s mainstream, but considered taboo in a country like India.

What’s Wow: The screenplay’s quirky and modern – and an entire generation will identify with it. The performances are good too, with both the actors playing the elder sister and the younger one, Aanchal Sharma and Priyanka Ara giving it their best shot.  The concept’s very relevant today and the entire viewing experience is a good one.

What’s Blah: Nothing.

Parting Shot: It’s interesting to see relevant concepts coming onto the streaming platforms. This is the kind of adult comedies we are looking for.
