Short Film: Listener

After a long and strenuous day, all one wants is someone who listens to all our plights. It is one of the best therapies in the world.

Taking a cue from this, Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films talks about a father, who works as a listener. People pay him by the hour to listen to their problems. The short focusses on one of his days as a listener, wherein his customers range from an old man frustrated with his bad sex life, a single woman just wanting to talk about her road experience, two frustrated men, and a man who has recently had a break up.

The listener irrespective of the problems he is made to hear remains calm. The climax is equally brilliant.

What’s WOW? The idea of hiring a listener is so idiosyncratic, at some point during the short; you want to hire a listener yourself. And that is a job well done. Kumud Mishra as a listener is the most apt casting.

What’s Blah? Nothing to complain about.

Parting Shot: The web is ‘the place’ for anything unique and Listener is definitely unique and attention grabbing. It’s definitely worth ‘TheDigitalHash.com must watch’ title.
