Shah Rukh Khan has revealed that his company has talked about creating original content for Netflix. Earlier, the news was that Netflix had acquired rights for all the original SRK starrers.
Along with SRK, Netflix had signed a contract with Aamir Khan for his films too. In a media interaction, SRK revealed that Netflix CEO and he talked about making original content – that means Netflix exclusive – content for the streaming website.
However, Shah Rukh also said that the they hadn’t signed a contract about the original content as of yet. If this does happen, SRK has an uphill task ahead of him. Netflix’s original content are incredibly well-made products and intense stories that just need to be told.
Also, the foreign media isn’t exactly starstruck and they do reject series if they don’t work for them, irrespective of the starpower behind them – case in point Priyanka Chopra’s Quantico, that’s running the risk of being shut down.
SRK himself hasn’t had a good run as a content producer, though his production values were world class. When he made Ra.One, everyone applauded the production values but the script was criticised.
