Taking a comic stance on the issue of global warming, a new web series The North Pole will stream on September 12 on www.thenorthpoleshow.com . The series will have seven episodes of 10-minutes each and is set in North Oakland, locally known as North Pole. Three best friends raised in the area struggle to save their neighborhood from the ills of gentrification and issues concerning global warming.

Prior to its streaming, The North Pole will be hosted by the Grand Lake Theater on September 7.  Written and produced by Josh Healey, directed by Yvan Iturriaga, the series is executive produced by Movement Generation, an Oakland-based nonprofit that engages in transformative action towards the liberation and restoration of land, labor, and culture.

The cast includes Reyna Amaya, Donte Clark, Santiago Rosas, and Eli Marienthal. Special guest cameos include comedian W. Kamau Bell, hip-hop artist Mistah Fab, Black Panther hero Ericka Huggins, and musician Boots Riley.
