After Shah Rukh Khan, now Salman Khan has opted to stream his films. He has signed an exclusive deal with Amazon Prime Video for worldwide streaming rights. It includes all his future titles, and latest release Tubelight, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Kick, Jai Ho and Hero. The deal also includes films produced by Salman Khan Ventures. Prior to this, SRK struck a similar deal for his films with Netflix.

“Amazon Prime Video reaches over 200 countries and territories and I am happy to collaborate with Amazon Prime Video and expand the reach of Indian cinema,” Salman said in an interaction.

For Salman fan lovers this means that they can enjoy his films online, once they have had a theatrical release, nearly two months before they are aired on any Satellite/Television broadcast or any other form of distribution.

Nitesh Kripalani, Director and Country Head, Amazon Video India, said, “This (deal) is another big step to change the way how Indian customers consume entertainment with Salman’s movies coming first to Prime Video customers, before their television broadcast.”

James Farrell, Head of Content, Prime Video, Asia Pacific, said the exclusive worldwide deal was one of the biggest star deals to have ever been done in the world. “India is a top priority market for Amazon and we believe that this love India has for films, the passion, the energy and the talent of India needs to be on a worldwide stage for global audiences to see,” he said.
