Saif Ali Khan is bitten by the digital bug. The Bollywood star – who is all set to star in Netflix’s first ever Indian web series Sacred Games – is keen on doing another digital venture, reports suggest. Saif may be seen in a political drama, but is yet to sign on the dotted lines.
Saif will be seen as Sartaj Singh in the Netflix series all set to stream in July this year. In fact, Saif is being offered a lot of web series and he is considering a few.
Saif’s likeness for the medium was evident during an event for Sacred Games. Saif said that because of the non-existence of censorship, they will be able to tell true stories in a more exciting manner. He also said that he was happy they won’t have to go through 500 institutions to get permission for their series. For the uninitiated, Sacred Games also stars Radhika Apte and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The series is based on the critically-acclaimed best-selling novel Sacred Games by author Vikram Chandra.
During an interview, he said that more and more actors will be making their way onto the streaming screens because of the freedom that the medium provides. He said that streaming platforms like Amazon and Netflix work in a much creative space and have the budgets to bring the director’s thoughts on screen.
