One’s known for his bombastic actions scenes, another one’s known for playing a character whose dialogues are dripping with sarcasm – and they are coming together for Netflix. Ryan Reynolds and Michael Bay will be working together for Six Underground, a Netflix original that’s about six billionaires who fake their own death and form a team to take down bad guys. Paul Wernic and Rhett Rheese, the guys behind the scripts of Deadpool and Zombieland will be writing the screenplay. While Netflix is notoriously tightlipped about its release dates, this Original could be hitting screen as early as 2019.
Looking at the synopsis, everyone has a big task ahead for them. Six characters means six backstories and considering an equal, if not more number of villains, this could either be another Avengers in the making or Suicide Squad, you never know. With Michael Bay attached, this could be one of Netflix’s biggest budget films – after all, Bay’s the dude who’s made a career out of blowing up things spectacularly on screen.
Netflix is quickly becoming home to the stars with their Original Films and their web series. Earlier, they brought Will Smith to the streaming channel with Bright, a Fantasy/Sci-fi film. When it comes to India, Netflix will soon bring Sacred Games, the web series starring Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddique.
