Ultra-Shorts came up with Rise, a web series that stars Vikrant Massey and Atul Shrivastava. The two come from startlingly different backgrounds, with Vikrant losing his job and Atul playing someone who’s living his life in the chill zone. The two take a road trip that promises to change not just their life but also their viewpoint towards people.
The series made its mark because of the interesting performances and the intriguing premise. The chemistry between Vikrant and Atul is something that keeps the audience engaged. The web series will now stream at the LAWEBFEST 2018, and will be broadcast at the Sony Studios, Hollywood, next month. The series has also been nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama and Outstanding Cinematography in a Drama. The series makes it to a list that has web series from all parts of the world, including USA, Australia, Canada, Spain, Korea, Germany, Brazil and the United Kingdom.
The LAWEBFEST is one of the oldest series ever and it’s finally paying attention to homegrown content. With the boost that Indian web series have seen in the past year or so, and with international festivals paying attention, the way forward is only up.
