Ram Gopal Varma was in all kinds of trouble when the news about his new short film, God, Sex and Truth hit the headlines. The photos of an almost naked woman were a talking point and the obvious happened – an activist lodged a complaint against him over his alleged derogatory remarks about women.
That activist is Devi, based in Hyderabad and the investigation is now on. According to the complaint, the very fact that Mia Malkova, an American Adult Film Star was signed up for the film is a bad reflection on women. That of course, raises the question whether the complaint has any standing – she isn’t the first American Adult Film Star to make a foray into Bollywood as a mainstream actor. Currently, the complaint is lodged under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act and under other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Ram Gopal Varma is known for his atrocious comments, but it seems that RGV knows that trouble can be brewing this time. Earlier, he said that he had no association with the film, other than directing it online and knowing the concept of the film before it released.
Trouble is brewing because the film is being categorised as a porn film and not the kind of work that RGV is known for. However, he has been making such stuff since a while now, with the short film Meri Beti Sunny Leone Banna Chahti Hai being an over the top, atrocious dialogue between a daughter and her parents about why she wants to become like Sunny Leone.
