The Angry Indian Goddesses and S Durga actress, Rajshri Deshpande will be seen opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the Netflix Indian Original series, Sacred Games, directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane.
Rajshri, who is thrilled to be a part of the Netflix Orginal series shared her experience of working with director Anurag Kashyap, “He actually makes you see the character through his eyes, he knows each actor’s strength and knows exactly what to do in order to get the best out of his actors. I am very confident when he is behind the camera, I feel I can be the best actor in the world. He gives me that kind of confidence and opportunity, which an actor seeks in his director” she says.
She further adds, “He is really calm, fun and crazy but at the same time. He is clear in his vision. He makes sure everyone on the set is made to feel important, confident and respected, be it an actor or crew member.”
Rajshri talks about working with Nawazuddin Siddiqui “He is a great co-actor and a very observant person. I had to challenge myself in every scene because while working with him you need to be on your toes. The focus and discipline that he brings to the set is inspiring.
Rajshri on the changing expression of the celluloid “I think this is a good time to be in the industry, not just for actors, but Writers and Directors as well. Filmmakers like Abhishek Chaubey, Amit Masurkar, Meghna Gulzar and many others are raising the bar with their work. And with platforms like Netflix, which gives you more space to experiment with content as well as expression, the game is only going to get interesting.”
She will be seen in the role of Ismat Chughtai in Nandita Das’ Manto, her second film with Nawazzudin Siddiqui.
