Preity Zinta is in the news for something that’s allegedly connected to her – the Karan Anshuman directed ‘Inside Edge’, the Amazon India web series. Allegedly based on the IPL, the series is  fraught with controversy, with rumours about the characters being based on real life individuals. One of those characters is a cricket team owner, played by Richa Chadha.

Reports suggested that Richa Chadha’s character is based on a female IPL team owner. Other reports suggested the character was inspired by Preity Zinta, who owned an IPL team.

When news of a BDSM sex scene involving Richa’s character and one played by Vivek Oberoi surfaced, tongues started wagging. Some reports alleged Preity had called up Farhan and asked him to show her the series before it is launched. Now, Preity has slammed those rumors outright with a Twitter outburst. In the tweet, she said:

“This is absolutely FAKE NEWS. I have never called up Farhan nor am I interested in the show nor any character is based on me.”

This is one of the first web series that’s in a controversy even before the first episode has hit the screens.
