Plagiarism accusations hit Palash Sen short film Jiya Jaye

Plagiarism and copying are words that one generally sees when talking about films from Bollywood, Hollywood and books. But in a first, the Palash Sen directed Jiya Jaye has opened itself to plagiarism charges, by filmmaker Bhargav Saikia. Saikia says that some of the shots in the short film are actually from his 2016 production Kaafiron ki Namaaz. Bhargav Saikia has updated his Facebook account with an elaborate post about what’s happened.

In the post, he has accused Dr. Sen of re-using the footage. In the post, he also says that he considers this as a case of serious copyright infringement and has already sent legal notices to the makers of the short film Jiya Jaye.
