British model and actress Amy Louise Jackson is clearly a polymath persona. Aside her modelling career in the UK she is an actor in the Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi Film Industry. Now she turns producer and philanthropist co-producing a short film on creating awareness about cruelty to animals along with its prevention.
Amy says, “We will shoot for the film soon. I will also be a part of it, though I won’t act in the film. I will be speaking about my experience of making the movie. It will have a few real stories. I believe that cruelty to animals is a serious issue and it’s important that it’s discussed more.”
Once earlier, the animal lover had also featured in PETA’S ad campaign on adoption of stray dogs instead of buying them. “We can stop the cycle of animal homelessness and save lives by opening our hearts and homes to a loving cat or dog from an animal shelter instead of buying animals from breeders or pet shops.” she had said.
Social media will be the launching pad for the short film on the 5-year-old cross breed dog Star.
She had read a “life-changing” article that had exposed her to the cruelty done towards animals. “A 5-year-old female cross-breed dog in Malta named Star made international headlines in 2011. She had been found by Animal Welfare Department officers, shot at point-blank range and buried alive after being covered with cardboard and a tree trunk. She died later!”
This moved her deeply and from there came the idea of a short film to create awareness. Amy also wants to take the film around the festival circuit once launched.
