Netflix is the definitive home for superhero films when it comes to streaming. Its closed competitor Amazon Prime now has films like Wonder Woman and Spiderman: Homecoming in its inventory, but the Big N is upping its ante with Past Midnight, a superhero vigilante film about a vigilante who was caught stopping the worst case of domestic terrorism to hit New York. Now, he must team up with a detective to stop his nemesis.
Director Rick Famuyiwa is in talks, while the film will have Anthony and Joe Russo producing. The two have directed Captain America and Captain America: Infinity War. T.J Fixman, the man behind the script of Ratchet & Clank is set to create the script for the film.
If these names weren’t enough, there’s rumours that Keanu Reeves, who stunned everyone with his portrayal in John Wick and John Wick 2 is in talks to come to Netflix with this Original. Netflix earlier worked on Bright, which brought Will Smith to the streaming service. Bright is a supernatural thriller that had Will Smith’s character play a police officer who teams up with an alien police officer to combat a team of supernatural villains. Netflix is dishing out a lot of supernatural content, like Mute and Altered Carbon, which are becoming definitive guides to making thriller and supernatural content for streaming.
