Olivia Colman’s look as Queen Elizabeth in The Crown has been released and she does a pretty good job playing the British Queen. Olivia takes over from Claire Foy who played the character in the first two seasons of the Netflix series. The image showcases Olivia with her pearls and drinking tea. The new look was announced on Twitter
Olivia will be playing the character for the third and fourth seasons of the series. The upcoming third season will be essaying the period from 1964 to 1970s. It is expected to release sometime in 2019, currently it is in production. The other news that has kept people from talking about The Crown is the 13 Emmys nominations it got. Actors Claire, Vanessa Kirby (who played Princess Margaret) and Matt Smith (Prince Philip) have been nominated apart from the series being nominated as the Best Drama.
These actors will now be replaced in the third season by Tobias Menzies (Prince Philip), Helena Bonham Cater (Princess Margaret) and Ben Daniels will be playing Margaret’s husband – Antony Armstrong-Jones.
There is currently on confirmation as to who will be essaying the character of Prince Charles, but it is believed that actor Josh O-Connor is being considered for the role.
