Now, Facebook Wants To Become Video Platform

Facebook started out as a social network, but today has an all encompassing nature on the Internet. It is also buying several media companies that’s making it an Internet behemoth. And in this situation comes news that Facebook is tying up with some of the best video creators for videos. The list comprises of the likes of Buzzfeed, Vox Media, ATTN and others. No word on whether Facebook is looking for Indian collaborators as yet. However, from the technical standpoint, Facebook needs to work a lot on their video platform. Right now, it has several kinks that don’t bid well for non-obtrusive viewing.

According to reports, the videos that Facebook is planning to work on with these brands will be anything from 20 to 30 minutes to the shorter ones. Traditionally, one-minute videos are the most popular on the Internet.  Facebook is also paying big bucks for this content. From the Indian standpoint, the Big Blue plans to pay 1.7 crore for the 30 minute videos. Shorter content is anything from 7 lakhs to 23 lakhs. The reports suggest that Facebook will also share advertisement revenue with the makers of the content.
