Nitish Tiwari has wowed us with his concepts, right from “Chillar Party” to the awesome “Dangal”. He has now joined hands with a real estate firm to make a short film highlighting the plight of parents who wish to educate their daughters.

The film will deal with a father, who is torn between prioritizing his daughter’s education, or saving enough money to marry her off. The film is being shot in the Konaseema region. Speaking to the media at a press conference, Nitish said that it was the story and the message that really inspired him to make the film. He said that the subject of empowerment is close to his heart. He also said that as a film-maker, he hoped that the message reaches the people.

Educating women is an issue that Governments have tried to tackle since independence. Even today, many Government schools provide free education to girls or charge a very minimal fee.  However, parents still pull the girl child out of schools because they get married at a very young age. The situation is worse in the rural areas, where the parents who decide to educate their daughter face social stigma.
