NHRC invites entries for second annual competition of short-films on Human Rights

The National Human Rights Commission is now inviting entries for its third annual competition. The short films should have human rights as a central concept. The best films will have a certificate and the prize money will be of 1 lakh, Rs. 75000 and Rs. 50000 respectively.

According to the NHRC statement, the aim of the awards scheme is to encourage and acknowledge cinematic and creative efforts of Indian citizens, irrespective of their age, towards the promotion and protection of human rights.

The entries can be sent until August 16. The short films may be in any Indian language, with sub-titles in English. The duration of the film should be less than 5 minutes. Also, no film should have a duration more than 10 minutes.
