  • Andy Serkis writes and directs Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle
  • Benedict Cumberbatch, Cate Blanchett, Matthew Rhys and Naomie Harris form part of cast

Netflix has dropped the first trailer of Andy Serkis’s Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, which stars Rohan Chand, Matthew Rhys, Frieda Pinto and the voices of Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch and Naomie Harris. The trailer promises a fantastic, adventurous experience for audiences.

The trailer shows that the story of the film is not the regular Mowgli origin story and in fact tells how Mowgli fights foreign hunters with the help of village folk. In fact, in one of the scenes, we see Bagheera, Mowgli’s arch enemy welcoming Mowgli back and commenting on how he has grown – decisive proof that the story is a further to Mowgli’s story and not the origin one that we have seen.

This is one of the most delayed films and will finally release in select theatres on November 29 and will release on Netflix on December 7. Christian Bale gives the voice of Bagheera while Cate Blanchett voices Kaa. Benedict Cumberbatch will be voicing Shere Khan and Andy Serkis will be voicing Baloo the Bear. Jonathan Rhys Meyers voices Hathi and Tom Holander is the voice for Tabaqui the striped hyena. Frieda Pinto plays Mowgli’s adoptive mother.
