No day goes by without Netflix announcing a new show or original deal. All this is apparently part of a bigger plan. The streaming service wants to offer 700 original movies and shows to its subscribers in 2018.
To achieve this, Netflix will be utilizing the $8 billion capital earmarked for original content. This was shared by David Wells, CFO, Netflix in an event.
Among those 700 productions will be around 80 originals made outside of the US. It is not just content that Netflix is banking upon. It has also earmarked a whopping amount of $2 billion this year to market its content which is a 50% increase from last year.
