Sports documentaries are a rarity in India – but Netflix has now decided to play ball with them. The first trailer for the Netflix web series, Cricket Fever Mumbai Indians, is out now and promises a compelling tale. The trailer itself hints at full access to some never seen footage from the Mumbai Indians team and team members.
Critics are vocal about what role Sachin Tendulkar plays in the team, but one look at the trailer will tell you that he’s as valuable a player today as he was when he was out on the field. The trailer starts with how the team won the 2017 IPL cup and the struggles that they have gone through since then. Apart from that, the trailer also shows the role that the Ambanis play in the day to day running of the team.
The series is an eight-part documentary that showcases the ups and downs of the team and takes the audience through the Mumbai Indians timeline from the year 2017 to 2018. The series will stream on Netflix from March 1, 2019.
