Tom Ellis is the central character of Lucifer, who is a fallen angel and works with Los Angeles Police Department to take down the criminals of the earth. It is produced by WB, along with Jerry Bruckheimer Television. The series is based on the characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg for Vertigo from DC Entertainment. Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, Joe Henderson, Ildy Modrovich, Sheri Elwood and KristieAnne Reed are its executive producers.
Lucifer is the second show that Netflix has saved; previously it saved another Warner Bros title Longmire, which was again cancelled after three seasons. The two giants – Netflix and Warner Bros – are also collaborating for the upcoming dark Sabrina the Teenage Witch series titled Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
