Netflix has announced the season 2 release date of GLOW. The girls are all set to return on June 29. This news was announced on the official Twitter handle on GLOW through a minute and a half video. The video is a spoof on the training montage from the 1983 film Flashdance with the wrestlers dancing to Michael Sembello’s ‘Maniac’ in the locker room.

The season two of this Netflix wrestling comedy will consist of 10 episodes. The season 2 is expected to be high on wrestling, since the first season had the protagonists learning the tricks of the trade.

Inspired by the short-lived but beloved show from the 80s, GLOW is a Cinderella story with bodyslams. GLOW set in 1980s Los Angeles, follows struggling actress Ruth Wilder (Alison Brie) who becomes a wrestler on a weekly series in a final bid for stardom. GLOW, or Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling, was inspired by a female wrestling league and accompanying TV show of the same name from the late ‘80s.

While GLOW fans rejoice, other Netflix web series like Gypsy, The Get Down and Girlboss have not been renewed for more seasons.
