  • Netflix brings a sex comedy to streaming audiences

Netflix has been bringing some interesting content on their streaming platform and Sex Education is the next in the list. The premise is perfect for some whacky incidents – a teenager whose mom is a sex therapist plans to open a health clinic whose customers will be their class mates.  The series stars Emma Mackey, Gillian Anderson, Asa Butterfield and others.

The other cast members are Chaneil Kular, Alistair Petrie, Connor Swindells, Cerys Watkins, Kedar Williams-Stirling too. Ben Taylor and Kate Herron are directing.  The writing credits are shared by Bisha K. Ali, Sophie Goodhart, Laura Hunter, Laura Neal, Laurie Nunn and Freddy Syborn. Sex Education is produced by Jon Jennings, Sian Robins-Grace, Jamie Campbell and Joel Wilson. The series will stream staring 11 January.

Netflix has had mixed success with school and college-based programming. American Vandal, the surreal satirical comedy faced the axe after two successful seasons. Everything Sucks also got the hammer after just one season. On the other hand, Big Mouth, the web series about adolescents in school still lives on the streaming platform.
