Come Christmas and the entire family gets together to celebrate love and togetherness – and that’s what the festive season is all about. Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA) nominated film ‘Angela’s Christmas’ is based on Pulitzer Prize winning Irish-American writer Frank McCourt’s book.
Set in Limerick (Ireland) 1914, with voices by Oscar nominated Irish actress Ruth Negga (mother) and Lucy O’Connell (Angela), along with narration by Malachy McCourt, Frank’s brother, ‘Angela’s Christmas’ is about a lovely family that supports one another and gives unconditional warmth during the harshest of winters.
What’s WOW :It tugs at your christmas-love-filled-heart strings. The film beautifully showcases the significance of a family via an innocent Irish girl Angela. She goes out of her way to ensure that the uncovered statue of Baby Jesus placed in the Church crib is warm and cozy enough for the cold and dark church, even taking it home to ensure that.
What’s Blah :Not a thing
Parting Shot: If you are feeling festive, watch Angela’s Christmas. If you aren’t, you definitely need to watch it!
