Netflix is on an announcement binge, and this time it’s about anime and cartoon. Since the past few weeks, Netflix has announced a flurry of anime series – the latest in line being The Dragon Prince. According to reports, the series will be about two princes and an elf assassin going on a quest to slay something wicked, maybe a dragon. The series is written by Aaron Ehasz, who had earlier written Futurama and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
With this, Netflix is proclaiming that it is a streaming channel with wholesome entertainment for everyone. What started out as a platform for niche content – something that is difficult to find on mainstream tv – became the home to superhero, thriller and horror content.
That is now quickly evolving into a something that has entertainment for everyone. Netfix is increasing the content it has in the anime category and already has several animation series that can keep kids busy all through the weekends.
