A new web series will talk about the life and times of Robert Kennedy, more specially the 83-day presidential run that began on March 16, 1968. The presidential run was cut short with his assassination three months later.
Dawn Porter is the executive producer and the director of the series, which explores Kennedy’s evolution from a social justice and civil rights crusader to a politician who could be President. Kennedy was a US Senator and had earlier been the US Attorney General under the John F. Kennedy administration. The four-part series will highlight his work from 1961 to 1968.
According to reports, this was supposed to be a short film, but looking at the amount of content available, Dawn went ahead and made it into a four-part web series that was picked up by Netflix pretty soon. The seven-year story will have rare and never seen before archival footage that’s now been digitized for the first time – thanks to Netflix. The series will have choice content from more than 240 hours of archival footage.
