It isn’t easy to have an opinion about politics anywhere in the world today and celebrities are skirting away from these concepts. Netflix though, has bought the rights to two documentaries which are like chalk and cheese and yet, similar.

White Right: Meeting the Enemy talks about how White Supremacy is a very genuine problem and then there’s Jihad: Story of Others, which is about Islamic fundamentalism. Both these documentaries are now available for streaming in the US and the UK.

Out of these, Jihad is the BAFTA nominated film that shows young people from Europe joining Islamic extremist groups. Deeyah Khan is at the forefront of making films that reveal the violence that people face at an everyday level. She had earlier made the film Banaz: A Love Story in 2012, that was about the honor killing of Banaz Mahmood, a young Kurdish woman.
