Netflix is making sure that it keeps its ardent viewers engaged. After having released the trailer of the much-awaited House of Cards, the streaming service took to twitter to announce the fifth season of Black Mirror. The 17 second teaser ends with a ‘Be Right Back’ message and hence confirming that the series has been renewed for a fifth season.

Black Mirror is an anthology series that taps into collective unease with the modern world, with each stand-alone episode a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia. Without questioning it, technology has transformed all aspects of our lives; in every home; on every desk; in every palm – a plasma screen; a monitor; a Smartphone – a Black Mirror reflecting our 21st Century existence back at us. The series is created and written by Charlie Brooker, and executive produced by Brooker and Annabel Jones.

The fourth season of this sci-fi anthology series premiered on Netflix in 2017-end. It featured names such as Black Panther’s Letitia Wright and Chewing Gum’s Michaela Coel.
